12 hours until check-in at the Autocross...

It's 12 hours until my first autocross, and I'm nervous... Very nervous. The lugs are set at 85 ft-lbs, the interior is empty, including the spare and the carpet in the hatch, my phone is on the charger and my tire pressures are set. The front anti-sway bar is in the shed, and I took her out on the back roads to make sure the oversteer wouldn't be too sudden to drive to Wichita and back.

I'm leaving in 9 hours for Yoder, and I'm excited, and I know I need to sleep now... Any Wichita Oppos going to be at Yoder, tomorrow?

In addition, the deal is done for car #3, a 1986 Volvo 740 sedan, Manuel edition, for $350... It even has new cam seals, a new timing belt and a new rear main seal. I'm going to get it in two weeks and probably leave the Mazda in Tennessee for a while, while I tow the Fiat up here. $350 for the car, buy a trailer hitch and rent a tow dolly from U-Haul.. It's all coming together.

Don't forget a tire pressure gauge, and have fun. I hope I can make it to autox (central il though) tommorow too, but my tires are corded so I might have to do it in a s class or on snow tires...

My parents had a silver 740. Pretty quick for a box. Easily handled 100mph+ driving on the Autobahn.

That is a steal! Manual Volvos are surprisingly hard to find, at least for the 740 and newer models.

My first autocross I thought was a rallycross and didn't find out until after I got there and had already prepaid. So I was nervous before I got there and then I was nervous all over again once I got there. Won my class though! I'm sure you'll be fine and you'll have a great time.
